Join us for an inspiring Cocktail Event celebrating Queensland-German collaboration in science, energy and commerce with CSIRO Chief Scientist Prof Bronwyn Fox.
Meet the Board of Directors of the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) including new Executive Director Dr. Gabi Rose as well as the AHK President and CSIRO Chief Scientist Prof Bronwyn Fox on Thursday the 8th of September 2022. You will mingle with representatives from the Queensland Government, members of the Queensland business and scientific community, the foreign affairs, international trade and defence sectors as well as members of the German Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and innovative German-Australian Business Alliance (iGABA).
Keynote speaker on the night will be CSIRO Chief Scientist and AHK President
Professor Bronwyn Fox joined CSIRO in October 2021 and became CSIRO’s fourth female Chief Scientist. She is known globally as a leader in advanced manufacturing, materials science, and industry 4.0 technologies, and is passionate about bringing together multidisciplinary teams for collaborative research.
She was formerly Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) at Swinburne University of Technology and founding Director of Swinburne’s Manufacturing Futures Research Institute.
During that time, she established a world first Industry 4.0 Testlab for additive manufacturing of carbon fibre composites, in collaboration with CSIRO.
Ministerial Address: Queensland Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment
Cameron Dick is the Queensland Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment, and has represented the state electorate of Woodridge in the Queensland Parliament since 2015. As Treasurer and a member of the Palaszczuk Government’s leadership team, Cameron is responsible for driving economic growth and job creation across the state. He wants to help local businesses reach their full potential and attract more interstate and overseas investment to Queensland.
With the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games secured, he is focused on Queensland’s rise to become a showpiece for the world.
Cameron is leading Queensland’s economic recovery during the pandemic, overseeing delivery of the government’s COVID-19 Economic Recovery Plan. This includes supporting small business operators, easing cost-of-living pressures on Queensland households, and assisting first-homeowners achieve their property aspirations.
He’s also committed to the success of Queensland’s emerging industries like renewables, hydrogen and defence, while continuing to support traditional industry strengths such as tourism and manufacturing.
Cameron has previously served Queensland as the state’s Attorney-General, Minister for Infrastructure and Planning, Minister for State Development, Minister for Manufacturing, Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, Minister for Education, and Minister for Industrial Relations.
He is proud to live with his wife and two teenage boys in the City of Logan where he enjoys supporting local community and sporting groups, particularly the area’s rugby league and cricket clubs.
Coinciding with the Hydrogen Connect Summit in Brisbane on 8-9 September at the Convention and Exhibition Centre, this event Event is set to attract additionally Executives and Experts from the Energy and Resources Sectors. AHK is Event Partner of the Summit, a conference with a commitment to moving to net zero, with agility, excellence, and deliberate collaboration.
